Brand your Spark Installation

This how-to explains how to brand your installation of Spark IM client with your company name and logo along with some other bits and bobs

Install Spark
Make sure that the latest version of Spark is installed on either a test machine or a single client machine that you will use to modify the install.
Find the file to edit
The next step is to find the file that you need to edit to brand spark. The following steps assume that you have installed Spark in the default directory...
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Spark\lib
Find the file 'spark.jar' and open it with WinRar (other archivers will work but WinRar tends to give best results)
NOTE: Open the .jar file, do NOT extract it.

.NET Runtime Optimization Service causing CPU High Load on Windows Server 2012

This afternoon, i get issues with my Domain Controller, on Windows Server 2012 R2, having CPU High load and after checking in the Task Manager i noticed the service “NET Runtime Optimization Service” was running and getting most of the CPU load, even after a reboot.
After some research on internet, it seems to happen on servers where you have installed the .NET Framework 4.
To solve this issue :
Open a command prompt and change folder to this one “C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework

DenyHosts: Unblocking an IP address on Ubuntu Server

For best practice to hardening servers we typically install denyhosts to protect our servers. However, sometimes we get accidentally blocked out from our IP address. When we tried removing  blocked IP from /etc/hosts.deny, but it did blocked it again quickly. It appears that DenyHosts keeps track of the attempts somewhere on disk or memory. How do we remove own IP address from Deny Hosts?

Simply removing your IP from /etc/hosts.deny does not work since DenyHosts keeps track of the attempts in the
/var/lib/denyhosts/ directory. In order to remove your IP address you will need to do the following.

Exporting emails from Entourage to Outlook

I’ve recently had to export a bunch of emails from Entourage and into Outlook, in order to send them to someone in a format they can browse and read on a PC.  You’d think that exporting a selection of emails from one Microsoft email management tool to another would be easy, right?  Sadly not.  Thankfully, a bit of Apple script got things working for me.  This post describes how.
The main problem is the lack of a common format between Entourage (.mbox for folders, .eml for individual emails) and Outlook (.pst for everything).  There used to be a really good Applescript export tool for exporting from Entourage, but sadly it’s never been updated to work on Leopard.  You can export a whole folder as an MBOX file from Entourage, but these can’t be opened by Outlook and so aren’t much use either.
My eventual solution has two parts – getting mail out of Entourage, and then getting it in to Outlook.

Getting mail out of Entourage

For this part, I find an Apple script (based heavily on some code from macosxhints.com) to export all currently-selected emails in Entourage to a folder on my Mac.  Many thanks to macosx hints user Golgi body for posting the original code.

File size

File size

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
File size measures the size of a computer file. Typically it is measured in bytes with an SI prefix. The actual amount of disk space consumed by the file depends on the file system. The maximum file size a file system supports depends on the number of bits reserved to store size information and the total size of the file system. For example, with FAT32, the size of one file cannot be equal or larger than 4 GiB. Some common file size units are:
